The European Union mission returns to work from its headquarters in Tripoli.

The head of the European Union’s mission to Libya, Ambassador José Sabadell, announced the reopening of the mission’s work from its headquarters in Tripoli, two years after its suspension.

“Sabadell” – according to a tweet on his Twitter account – said that the resumption of the mission’s work from Tripoli is “a tremendous progress”, adding that they will be able to work together with “the Libyan authorities, civil society and partners.”

The head of mission stated that he is very excited to be with his team in Tripoli on a permanent basis, looking forward to this new stage.

It is worth noting that on April 11, 2019, the European Union evacuated the mission team from Tripoli, after the commander of the aggression, Khalifa Haftar, launched his war on the capital, Tripoli.
